Clear expectations for photos, video, aerial footage, logos, graphics, and other material a client asks Atlas McDowell to use.
We can use approved client-supplied material
Clients may supply images, video, aerial footage, logos, documents, and other media for an agreed website or marketing project. Before publication, the client must confirm in writing that it has the authority to authorize the intended use and that the material is accurate and suitable for public display.
What the client confirms
The client is responsible for confirming the necessary rights and approvals for supplied media, including the creator’s permission or license, rights from the actual copyright owner, location or property permissions, releases for recognizable people where needed, customer or vendor approval where applicable, and any restrictions affecting confidential, protected, or sensitive operations.
Drone and aerial footage
Atlas McDowell may consider existing client-supplied aerial footage, but does not direct, arrange, pilot, certify, or represent the operation that captured it. The client is responsible for confirming that the footage may be used as proposed and that the underlying operation satisfied any applicable site, aviation, safety, privacy, or regulatory requirements. We may decline aerial material that appears unsafe, unauthorized, misleading, or unsuitable for public use.
How we identify supplied material
We record supplied media in the project file. When useful for viewer transparency, a website may use a discreet source note such as Client-supplied field footage. A credit provides context about the source; it does not transfer rights, verify compliance, or replace the client’s written confirmation.
How Atlas McDowell may handle it
For the agreed channels, the client authorizes Atlas McDowell to place, crop, resize, compress, format, and technically adapt approved material as needed for the website and related agreed deliverables. We do not assume ownership of client-supplied material. Any broader use, paid advertising use, external campaign use, or transfer to another party must be stated in the written scope.
Our right to decline or remove material
Atlas McDowell may decline, pause, remove, or replace supplied material if we reasonably believe it creates a rights, safety, privacy, accuracy, platform, or reputational concern. If a rights holder, platform, client, or authority raises a credible concern, the material may be taken down while the matter is reviewed.
The signed agreement controls
The project scope and service agreement set the binding responsibilities, warranties, license, and any indemnity terms for the engagement. This page is a plain-language overview, not legal advice or a substitute for a signed agreement. Clients with unusual ownership, employee, contractor, aerial, regulated-site, or multi-jurisdiction issues should obtain their own legal advice before asking material to be published.
